Job summary

Kanawha Scales & Systems LLC is seeking a Field Service Technician to join the Birmingham, AL team. The role covers installation, calibration, and service of industrial scales to ensure accurate measurements and customer satisfaction.

You will perform installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair, while documenting work and communicating with customers. A high school diploma and 2–3 years of related experience are required; CDL is required; welding skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
• 2–3 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
• Experience with installation, calibration, and repair of scales.

Responsibilities

• Install and set up industrial, laboratory, and commercial scales.
• Perform calibration procedures and adjust settings to meet precision requirements.
• Maintain routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair scales to minimize downtime.
• Inspect scales for wear and ensure functionality of load cells and displays.
• Maintain detailed service and calibration records and certificates.
• Communicate with clients regarding service requirements, estimates, and technical questions.
• Follow safety protocols when working with heavy equipment and electrical components.
• Track tools, parts, and inventory; assist with replenishment as needed.
