Job summary

Kanawha Scales & Systems (KSS) seeks a Scale Service Technician for the Memphis, TN team. You will install, calibrate, and service a range of industrial, laboratory, and commercial scales, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

You will document service records, interact with customers, and follow safety and quality standards in diverse environments. The role requires 2–3 years in the field, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license (CDL a plus).

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
2–3 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license; CDL class B (or A) a plus.

Responsibilities

Scale installation: install and set up industrial, lab, and commercial scales per manufacturer specs.
Calibration: perform calibration procedures and adjust to meet precision requirements.
Maintenance and repair: routine maintenance, diagnose issues, repair promptly to minimize downtime.
Inspection: check scales for wear, damage, and functionality; address load cell issues.
Documentation: keep detailed service and calibration records and reports.
Customer interaction: communicate with clients regarding service needs and estimates.
Safety compliance: follow safety protocols with heavy equipment and electrical components.
Quality assurance: ensure serviced scales meet quality and regulatory standards.
Inventory & training: track tools, parts; stay updated on scale tech and practices.
