Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Safety Representative to execute the site safety program on assigned projects and train project staff in safety requirements and best practices for incident prevention.

You will build relationships with customer representatives, assist in safety reports, conduct staff training, and ensure compliance with safety policies. The role supports field operations and may require coverage for the HSE manager in its absence.

Qualifications

• 4 years of maintenance and construction safety experience.
• Certification/License: A valid Driver’s License, TWIC Card, and CSST/NCCER.

Responsibilities

• Build working relationships with customer representatives, project staff, and subcontractor safety representatives.
• Assist in creating accurate safety reports and accident investigation documents
• Assist in staff safety training and subcontractor development
• Represent the company positively and professionally with the customer and subcontractors
• Create and facilitate safety training and orientations aligned with project specifics and schedules
• Participate in safety organizations outside of the company and in assigned region
• Ensure compliance with the company’s current safety manual, policies, and expectations
• Majority of time spent in the field observing work, coaching, auditing, and engaging craft employee-owners
• Help project supervision resolve safety problems and issues in the field
• Fill in for site HSE manager during absences
• Other duties as assigned.
