Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Safety Technician to support site safety on a Lafayette project. You will work closely with project staff, contractors, and customers to uphold safety policies and train teams in incident prevention.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety reports, conducting trainings, and acting as a safety liaison. You may fill in for the site HSE manager as needed, with field-focused duties across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3+ years maintenance/construction experience.
• Valid driver’s license and TWIC card required.
• Strong safety knowledge and training.

Responsibilities

• Build working relationships with customer representatives, project staff, and subcontractor safety representatives.
• Assist in creating accurate safety reports and accident investigation documents.
• Assist in staff safety training and subcontractor development.
• Represent the company in a positive and professional manner with the customer and subcontractors.
• Create and facilitate safety trainings and orientations aligned with project specifics.
• Participate in safety organizations outside the company in the assigned region.
• Ensure compliance with the company safety manual, policies, and expectations.
• Majority of time spent in the field observing work, coaching, auditing, and engaging craft employee-owners.
• Help project supervision resolve safety problems in the field.
• Fill in for site HSE manager during absences.
• Other duties as assigned.
