Job summary

Element Resources is seeking a Health and Safety Supervisor for our Muncie, IN recycling plant. The role centers on keeping the facility’s 175 employees healthy and safe while applying safety and industrial hygiene practices across the site.

You will train staff, perform inspections, develop risk assessments, and supervise 9 hourly employees in hygiene/laundry services. Strong teamwork and computer skills are essential; some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety or related field preferred; Associates considered.
• 3-5 years industrial safety experience preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations; exposure monitoring protocol.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to EHSMS implementation and risk assessment processes.
• Conduct routine inspections and training to ensure safe work practices.
• Supervise 9 hourly employees in hygiene/laundry services.
• Identify, communicate, and track daily safety topics and toolbox talks.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; maintain a safety-focused culture.
