Job summary

Service Steel Aerospace in Canton, OH seeks a Safety Coordinator to lead safety programs across a steel distribution and processing facility. You will promote a culture of safety, manage injuries, ensure regulatory compliance, and oversee fleet safety operations throughout Ohio.

You will coordinate safety training, perform risk assessments, and drive continuous safety improvements in collaboration with management and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Regulatory knowledge across OSHA, FMCSA and Ohio safety regulations.
• OSHA 30 training credentials.
• Forklift/Powered Industrial Truck trainer certification.
• First Aid/CPR/AED.
• DOT/FMCSA compliance training.
• Able to comply with company safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer safety policies, programs, and procedures in compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, and Ohio regulations.
• Conduct routine facility inspections, JHAs, and safety audits across warehouse, processing, shipping, receiving, and fleet operations.
• Understand steel distribution center operations including material handling, cranes, forklifts, loading/unloading, rigging, and processing equipment.
• Lead hazard investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientations, and ongoing training.
