Ohio Gratings, Inc. is seeking a Safety Coordinator to lead safety and training programs across the Canton facility. You will develop policies, conduct training, and enforce SOPs/JSAs to maintain a safe work environment.

The role requires five years of safety experience, OSHA certification, and a background in EHS or Business Management. The position involves coordinating audits, permits, and compliance with OSHA and DOD regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) or Business Management required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least five years of safety experience required.
• Advanced training or certification in safety required.
• OSHA certification required.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and update safety and training policies and procedures.
• Act as a first responder to safety incidents on the production floor and within the facility.
• Coordinate safety programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct safety interactions and training sessions with the production team to reinforce safe work practices.
• Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
• Inspect fire extinguishers monthly and all other fire protection equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain files and documentation related to safety inspections and operations.
• Oversee permit processes, issuing special permits for regulated activities (enclosed space entry, welding, hazardous materials).
• Maintain knowledge of applicable government compliance regulations including OSHA and DOD.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections, and accompany agency staff during audits.
• Evaluate effectiveness of safety programs and recommend revisions and improvements.
• Submit recommendations for improvements to safety management program.
• Stop operations that could harm staff or equipment.
• Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries and health problems.
• Share environmental safety information across the organization.
• Prepare and implement the departmental budget.
• Ensure compliance with safety laws and regulations.
• Conduct safety committee meetings to discuss concerns and improvements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
