Job summary

The Metropolitan Council's Metro Transit Division seeks a Manager, Industrial Safety to lead safety programs, ensure OSHA compliance, and guide policy implementation across facilities within the Twin Cities region. The role requires developing training, managing safety staff, and coordinating with regulatory agencies.

On-site with some remote flexibility, travel between facilities is required; residence in Minnesota or Wisconsin preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Education/experience combinations listed; includes management experience (≥3 years).
• Field in occupational health, industrial safety, risk management or related.
• Minimum three years of management experience supervising staff and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Develops safety objectives and ensures OSHA changes are implemented.
• Serves as Metro Transit safety expert and liaison.
• Manages safety staff and conducts training and evaluations.
• Provides guidance on AWAIR and safety committees; uses Safety Management System.
• Measures progress, analyzes results, and reports to leadership.
• Acts as safety department point of contact for facility safety programs.
