Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks qualified Riggers for a project in Conover, NC. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3 months.

Strong rigging skills, experience with overhead structures, and adherence to safety protocols are required. This position is on-site with potential travel and a focus on safe lifting and coordination with crane operators.

Qualifications

• Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved.
• Attach pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms with bolts and clamps.
• Attach load with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, and chains to crane hook.
• Give directions to Crane Operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled.
• Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
• Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle.
• Coordinate movement of equipment and materials according to signals and directions.
• Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
