Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks a skilled Rigger for a Durham, NC project. The role involves rigging operations, load securement, and directing crane activities to ensure safety. Travel may be required, and benefits are considered after 3 months.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and adherence to safety and quality procedures in a demanding industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Completion of all safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observation of SIC and customer safety and quality processes at all times.

Responsibilities

• Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to the load size and weight.
• Attach pulley and blocks to overhead structures with bolts and clamps.
• Attach load with grappling devices to crane hook.
• Direct Crane Operator using hand signals or comms for safe hoisting.
• Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment with hand tools and wrenches.
• Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle.
• Coordinate movement of equipment per visual signals and directions.
• Rate information using measurable standards.
• Detect and respond to dangerous conditions.
• Regular attendance is required; significant travel may be required.
