Job summary

Commercial Metals Company is offering a summer internship across its recycling centers, fabrication plants, manufacturing facilities, steel mills and offices. You will cross-train in industrial/engineering technologies and work on real-world improvement projects.

You'll identify cost-saving opportunities, collaborate with the continuous improvement team, and present an improvement project at the end of the internship; strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Industrial Engineering or Operations Management program (Junior/Senior level preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Interest in industrial engineering technologies and hands-on learning.

Responsibilities

• Cross-train through the department to learn hands-on skills related to industrial/engineering technologies
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend cost saving opportunities by identifying process, quality and safety related improvement projects
• Work closely with the continuous improvement team to work on process improvement initiatives & projects
• Presentation/Report on an improvement project at the end of internship
• Ability to troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
• Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
