Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Pump Mechanic to inspect, repair, and rebuild industrial pumps in a shop setting on the Texas Gulf Coast. The role requires hands-on experience with various pump types and includes developing work scopes from inspection findings, with occasional field service work.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, can read mechanical drawings, and will use precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on industrial pump experience in a shop or field environment.
• Ability to inspect pumps and create work scopes based on repair needs.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and knowledge of common pump failure modes.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, manuals, and work scopes.
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and feeler gauges.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble centrifugal, API, multistage, vertical, and positive displacement pumps.
• Measure and document clearances, fits, and dimensions with precision tools.
• Inspect impellers, wear rings, shafts, bearings, seals, and other components for wear or damage.
• Develop work scopes and recommend repairs or replacement parts based on inspection findings.
• Perform bearing, mechanical seal, packing, shaft, and related rotating equipment work per specs and shop standards.
• Support field service work including installation, alignment, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Coordinate with project managers, shop leads, and QA/QC to meet quality standards and schedules.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain documentation and a clean workspace.
