Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on industrial pump experience in a shop or field environment.
• Ability to inspect pumps and create work scopes based on repair needs.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and knowledge of common pump failure modes.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, manuals, and work scopes.
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and feeler gauges.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble centrifugal, API, multistage, vertical, and positive displacement pumps.
• Measure and document clearances, fits, and dimensions with precision tools.
• Inspect impellers, wear rings, shafts, bearings, seals, and other components for wear or damage.
• Develop work scopes and recommend repairs or replacement parts based on inspection findings.
• Perform bearing, mechanical seal, packing, shaft, and related rotating equipment work per specs and shop standards.
• Support field service work including installation, alignment, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Coordinate with project managers, shop leads, and QA/QC to meet quality standards and schedules.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain documentation and a clean workspace.

Pump Mechanic

Location: Texas Gulf Coast
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Starting pay: $34.00 per hour, with flexibility based on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Pump Mechanic to inspect, repair, and rebuild industrial pumps in our shop. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with centrifugal, API, and positive displacement pumps; can identify mechanical issues and recommend repairs; and can develop work scopes from inspection findings. Occasional field service work may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble centrifugal, API, multistage, vertical, and positive displacement pumps.
• Measure and document critical clearances, fits, and dimensions using precision measuring tools.
• Inspect impellers, wear rings, shafts, bearings, seals, and other components for wear or damage.
• Develop work scopes and recommend repairs or replacement parts based on inspection findings.
• Perform bearing, mechanical seal, packing, shaft, and related rotating equipment work in accordance with manufacturer specifications and shop standards.
• Support occasional field service work, including installation, alignment, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Work with project managers, shop leads, and QA/QC personnel to meet quality standards and project schedules.
• Follow safety procedures, complete required documentation, and maintain a clean, organized work area.
