Job summary

Voigt-Abernathy is seeking an experienced Pump Mechanic to inspect, repair, rebuild, and test a wide variety of industrial pumps and rotating equipment in our repair facility and at customer sites. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of pump repair experience, strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work safely with hand and power tools.

The position requires work in our repair facility and occasional travel to customer locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of pump/rotating equipment repair experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical failures on industrial pumps and rotating equipment.
• Inspect, disassemble, clean, rebuild, and reassemble pumps and related equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and complete pump overhauls.
• Install, align, and commission new pumping equipment.
• Read and interpret equipment drawings, manuals, and repair documentation.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate service records.
• Recommend repair options and replacement parts.
• Ensure all work complies with quality standards and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and fellow team members.
• Assist with field service assignments as needed.
