Job summary

PSG, a Dover company, is seeking a Pump Assembler in Los Angeles to safely build cryogenic pumps according to drawings and specifications. You will follow standard work in the production cell and perform sub-assemblies, testing, and crating.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and manufacturing assembly experience, reads blueprints, uses hand tools and inspection gauges, and works flexible hours while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in manufacturing assembly is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and manufacturing instructions.
• Willingness to work flexible and/ or extended hours and maintain safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform all router steps on the work order to complete a pump build including kitting, sub-assemblies, non-destructive testing, and crating.
• Follow standard work in the production cell to conform to product design specifications and QA procedures.
• Perform TPM on department tools and equipment; record inspection values and maintain 5S.
• Hydro-test as required and ensure timely completion of tasks with proper documentation.

Job description

The Pump Assembler’s primary focus is to safely build pumps according to specifications, layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings. Utilizes a variety of tools and processes to ensure effective installation and application of Cryogenic pumps.

Education: High school or equivalent GED

Experience

• Manufacturing assembly experience strongly preferred
• Experience using hand inspection tools such as dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Experience using air and hand tools
• Forklift driving experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing work scope and learn new skills
• Ability to read and conform to company standards and building requirements
• Ability to work in a standing environment
• Ability to read and comprehend manufacturing instructions and read and interpret basic blueprint requirements.
• Must be able to work flexible and/or extended hours and report to work on a regular, punctual basis

Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform all router steps on the work order required to complete a pump build which includes but is not limited to kitting, building sub-assemblies, non-destructive testing and crating of pumps.
• Follow standard work in the production cell to conform to product design specifications and comply with all quality assurance procedures
• Perform TPM (total preventative maintenance) on department tools and equipment
• Perform Hydro-test on required work order and record values on inspection sheet
• Complete Standard Work and 5S Checklist Daily
• Responsible for completing priorities set forth by manager for the day
• Must comply with the Company’s policies and procedures
• Must demonstrate commitment to safety & continual improvement of OH&S (Occupational Health and Safety) performance, registered standards, company policy, integrity, ethics, and legal compliance
• Practice lean manufacturing and continuous improvement in the daily work
• Participates actively in lean activities, including 5S and continuous improvement activities
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Work overtime as required
• All other duties assigned
