Job summary

Dover Corporation in Los Angeles-area facility is seeking a Pump Assembler to safely build Cryogenic pumps per specifications and drawings. The role uses a variety of tools and processes to ensure proper installation and testing of pumps.

Ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and manufacturing assembly experience, with ability to read blueprints, interpret instructions, and work in a fast-paced environment. Overtime may be required, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing assembly experience preferred.
• Experience with hand inspection tools and air/hand tools.
• Forklift driving experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assemble pumps per specs, build sub-assemblies, and perform non-destructive testing.
• Follow standard work and quality procedures in production cell.
• Perform TPM on tools and equipment.
• Hydro-test pumps and record inspection data.
• Maintain 5S and keep a safe, clean work area.
• Report priorities to the manager for the day.
• Work overtime as needed and comply with company policies.
• All other duties assigned.

Job description

The Pump Assembler’s primary focus is to safely build pumps according to specifications, layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings. Utilizes a variety of tools and processes to ensure effective installation and application of Cryogenic pumps.

Education

High school or equivalent GED

Experience

• Manufacturing assembly experience strongly preferred
• Experience using hand inspection tools such as dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Experience using air and hand tools
• Forklift driving experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing work scope and learn new skills
• Ability to read and conform to company standards and building requirements
• Ability to work in a standing environment
• Ability to read and comprehend manufacturing instructions and read and interpret basic blueprint requirements.
• Must be able to work flexible and/or extended hours and report to work on a regular, punctual basis

Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform all router steps on the work order required to complete a pump build which includes but is not limited to kitting, building sub-assemblies, non-destructive testing and crating of pumps.
• Follow standard work in the production cell to conform to product design specifications and comply with all quality assurance procedures
• Perform TPM (total preventative maintenance) on department tools and equipment
• Perform Hydro-test on required work order and record values on inspection sheet
• Complete Standard Work and 5S Checklist Daily
• Responsible for completing priorities set forth by manager for the day
• Must comply with the Company’s policies and procedures
• Must demonstrate commitment to safety & continual improvement of OH&S (Occupational Health and Safety) performance, registered standards, company policy, integrity, ethics, and legal compliance
• Practice lean manufacturing and continuous improvement in the daily work
• Participates actively in lean activities, including 5S and continuous improvement activities
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Work overtime as required
