Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer to lead manufacturing process development at a Queenstown, Eastern Cape facility. You will design, implement, and optimize processes to improve efficiency and product quality while reducing costs.

The role emphasizes lean methods, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on implementation of new technologies on the production floor. A strong background in process design and optimization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years in industrial engineering with manufacturing process development and optimization.
• Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and manufacturing quality practices is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
• Conduct time and motion studies, value stream mapping, and other industrial studies.
• Develop and implement process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Collaborate with R&D, design engineering, and production teams for smooth transfers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and automation solutions.
• Develop and maintain process layouts and material flow diagrams.
• Ensure processes meet safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Train production personnel on new or improved processes.
• Monitor process performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives in Eastern Cape.
