Job summary

SE&M Constructors, Inc. seeks an experienced Plumbing Project Manager to oversee assigned plumbing projects, support the project manager in safety, quality, and efficiency, and mobilize/demobilize projects as needed.

You will coordinate field procurement, manage rental equipment, and lead field teams in a fast-paced industrial environment. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, testing systems for leaks, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with NC codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in managing plumbing projects for industrial, pharmaceutical, and heavy commercial industries.

Responsibilities

• Direct oversight and coordination of assigned plumbing projects by assisting the project manager with safety, quality, and efficiency requirements.
• Mobilization of new projects and demobilization of completed projects.
• Field procurement of materials to conform to project specs.
• Manage rental equipment needs for piping projects.
• Install, assemble, maintain, and repair plumbing systems carrying water, waste, chemicals, or gases in industrial settings.
• Layout and install underground and above-ground pipe systems and supports.
• Use cutting, threading, bending, and joining tools for pipes (braze, solder, cement, glue, compression, press, threading).
• Install and connect plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets, water heaters).
• Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, or pressure issues in piping systems.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications to plan layouts and ensure compliance with standards.
• Test piping systems for leaks using 10’ head tests, hydrostatic or air tests.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and codes.
• Oversee daily plumbing staff and provide leadership and mentorship.
• Lead plumbing helpers, mechanics, and fitters under supervision.
• Coordinate weekly with Plumbing Coordinator on manpower, tools, and equipment to meet schedules.
• Perform quality control walks and safety audits on piping projects.
• Maintain as-built records and test documents.
• Manage punchlists for piping projects.
• Work in BIM models and PlanGrid documents.
• Complete/audit timecards and daily reports.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and ensure contractual compliance.
• Resolve client concerns and coordinate with designers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Monitor regulatory standards and safety guidelines; attend site meetings when required.
• Collaborate with SE&M departments (Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, Service) and divisions.
