Job summary

SE&M Constructors, Inc. is seeking a skilled Field Pipefitter Lead to work under the Superintendent, guiding day-to-day field activities and driving projects to completion.

Lead a crew of up to five, install and test pneumatic and hydronic piping, read blueprints, and coordinate with General Contractors, inspectors, and clients.

The on-site role requires OSHA 30 certification, strong safety leadership, and proactive material planning five days in advance.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in pipe fitting or plumbing
• OSHA 30 safety certification required
• Ability to lead and manage a crew of up to five
• Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydronic piping systems
• Pipe sizing calculations including gallons per minute
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings
• Excellent communication with General Contractors, inspectors, clients, and internal project management
• Plan and manage material and consumable orders five or more days in advance

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field activities under the Superintendent
• Measure and cut pipe (PVC, Copper, Brass, Carbon Steel) with minimal instruction
• Solder, braze, thread pipe, groove pipe, cut with torch, install hangers
• Repair malfunctions, leaks, or safety issues in pipe systems
• Test pipe systems to ensure safety and functionality
• Attach pipes to walls using brackets or clamps
• Read drawings to cut, assemble, and install pipes
• Coordinate material orders to ensure timely deliveries
• Lead safety toolbox talks and enforce PPE and OSHA guidelines
• Operate aerial work platforms
• Maintain communication with General Contractors, inspectors, and clients
