Job summary

Reworld in Dickerson, MD is seeking an Auxiliary Operator to join our facility control room and safely operate power plant systems as part of our industrial disposal process. You will monitor boilers and air pollution control equipment, read meters, sample materials, and operate heavy equipment such as cranes and forklifts.

A High School Diploma or equivalent and 2–3 years of experience are required, with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience operating heavy industrial equipment.
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety procedures (boilers, air pollution control, ash systems, heavy equipment).
• Monitor and inspect boiler plant auxiliary equipment (pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators, electrical devices).
• Read meters, gauges and instruments to identify trends or disruptions affecting operations.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment.
• Perform sampling, chemistry testing and water treatment as required.
• Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment (cranes, skid steers, loaders, forklifts).
• Maintain correct refuse-fuel levels and ensure proper refuse mix in designated pits.
