Job summary

Graybar is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Charleston, WV, to drive growth in specialized markets. You will develop new prospects, maintain strong customer contacts, and regularly visit sites to promote our electrical, power, and industrial automation products.

The role requires substantial travel, strong negotiation and sales skills, and the ability to work independently to meet revenue and margin targets. A 4-year degree is preferred and SAP experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years industry-specific experience; 4+ years preferred.
• 4 year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales and marketing.
• Negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn our business and work independently to achieve goals.
• Ability to sell and be persuasive.
• Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling products per pricing policies.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Maintain current customer records and assist in collection of past due accounts.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs and recommend new items for stock.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows and sales meetings.
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary.
