Job summary

Black Label Services Inc. is seeking an Operational Technology Engineer to support, maintain, and improve industrial control systems across facilities in the Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater, and RNG sectors.

The role requires hands-on work with SCADA/HMI, PLCs, RTUs, OT networks, and cybersecurity, with potential travel to sites. The OT Engineer collaborates with Operations, Engineering, IT, Maintenance, and vendors to troubleshoot issues, ensure reliability, and participate in system upgrades and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Computer Engineering, Automation, IT, or related field.
Experience with industrial automation, SCADA, PLC/OT environments.
Knowledge of PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, SCADA, networks, and field communications.
Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs.
Familiarity with Modbus, EtherNet/IP, DNP3, OPC/OPC UA, or similar.
Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
Willingness to travel to operating facilities.

Responsibilities

Support and maintain SCADA, HMI, PLC, RTU systems.
Troubleshoot automation, networking, and control issues to keep operations running.
Configure OT network infrastructure (switches, routers, VPNs, firewalls).
Assist with PLC programming, HMI configuration, alarms, and backups.
Provide field support and participate in facility upgrades and projects.
Develop and maintain OT documentation and asset management.
