Job summary

Black Label Services, Inc. is seeking an Operational Technology (OT) Engineer to support, maintain, and improve control systems across industrial facilities.

You will troubleshoot SCADA/HMI, PLCs, RTUs, OT networks, and cybersecurity while coordinating with Operations, Engineering, IT, and vendors. You will travel to operating facilities, assist with startups and upgrades, and participate in on-call support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience in Electrical/Controls/Automation or IT.
• Experience supporting industrial automation, SCADA, PLC, or OT environments.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial networks.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Familiarity with industrial protocols (Modbus, EtherNet/IP, DNP3, OPC/OPC UA).
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel to operating facilities for field support.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain SCADA, HMI, PLC, RTU, and related control systems.
• Troubleshoot automation, networking, and control system issues
• Configure OT network infrastructure including switches, routers, and VPNs.
• Support industrial communications across multiple field technologies.
• Assist with PLC programming and alarm management.
• Contribute to OT cybersecurity initiatives and patch management.
• Provide on-site and remote support for critical OT issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Participate in facility upgrades and OT infrastructure projects.
• Create and maintain OT documentation and system diagrams.
