Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance technician to safely perform inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on quarry and plant equipment to maximize uptime and production efficiency.

The role supports continuous improvement efforts in a heavy industrial setting, with responsibilities spanning maintenance execution, diagnostics, alignment, and documentation. Strong safety focus and ability to work in demanding environments are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; apprenticeship or equivalent industrial experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot and repair plant equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical documents; follow written/verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
• Disassemble, repair, and rebuild crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
• Install, maintain, and align mechanical components (bearings, belts, chains, rotating equipment).
• Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems; perform basic welding and cutting as needed.
• Complete work orders and maintenance reports; manage inventory parts and materials.
• Support plant outages and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
