What You Will Do:
- Design and modify small cell or simple assembly lines within plant facilities to ensure efficient and productive layouts.
- Create, pitch, and implement capital projects.
- Design the sequence of larger and more complex operations and installations, specifying procedures for fabrication, disassembly/assembly, and repairs to optimize performance.
- Design and implement complex manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control to ensure compliance and effective production.
- Monitor and ensure modifications, programs, and bulletins are incorporated or complied with, as required by customer and regulatory standards.
- Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs, leveraging knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling, and materials.
- Audit manufacturability of existing products and recommend modifications to address quality, customer, or productivity constraints.
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for products, considering technology transfer challenges from research to manufacturing.
- Develop procedures for economical mass production in collaboration with pilot-plant and production departments.
- Conduct tests and measurements during production stages to control variables and troubleshoot process problems.
- Review field support requirements and recommend tools and test equipment.
- Determine maintenance and repair materials needed for deployment.
- Make recommendations on acquiring new technological equipment and materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Project management experience.
- Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control, DMAIC, Process Certification, UPPAP, Six Sigma.
- Experience with CAD tools and 3D printing preferred.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or continuous improvement programs (ACE, 6S, etc.).
- Proficiency in SAP.
- ProE Modeling experience.
