Job summary

United States Cold Storage, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our engineering team at the McDonough, GA facility.

You will help maximize uptime, perform repairs on refrigeration systems, electrical components, HVAC, and related equipment, and assist with general facility maintenance. The role requires hands-on skills, safety awareness, and the ability to work in a cold storage environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–5 years of experience with working knowledge of the PRW industry and industrial refrigeration systems (e.g. anhydrous ammonia).
• Proficient in building and equipment maintenance.
• Moderate electrical, HVAC, welding, or plumbing knowledge.
• Working knowledge of material handling equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks, lead acid batteries).
• Knowledge of refrigeration control systems, microprocessors, and asset management programs (Infor EAM).

Responsibilities

• Maximize equipment uptime and support efficient facility operations through proactive maintenance and rapid issue resolution.
• Provide cross-functional support to the maintenance team and ensure continuity of operations.
• Perform maintenance and repair on powered industrial trucks in accordance with safety standards.
• Diagnose, repair, and prevent equipment failures using electrical knowledge.
• Execute welding, cutting, and metal fabrication to support repairs and improvements.
• Conduct routine building maintenance to maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Monitor refrigeration logs and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist with operation, maintenance, and repair of industrial refrigeration systems.
• Perform general facility maintenance including dock equipment, doors, plumbing, and HVAC.
