Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support high-volume manufacturing in Streetsboro, Ohio. This on-site, full-time role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex equipment to maximize uptime and safety.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, strong PC/PLC troubleshooting skills, and a proven ability to read electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial environment, or in field set-up and/or service of computer-controlled equipment.
• Strong knowledge of: Computer/PLC troubleshooting; Industrial electronic systems; Pneumatic systems; Mechanical systems and machine repair
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams
• Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team within a fast-paced production environment
• Strong commitment to workplace safety

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on manufacturing equipment.
• Trouble-shoot PC/PLC controlled equipment, sensors, drives, and automated systems.
• Utilize schematics and technical documentation to identify root causes of failures.
• Respond quickly to production downtime to minimize operational disruptions.
• Communicate with OEM technical support to speed up equipment repair.
• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment including welders, cutting systems, conveyors, and automated assembly equipment.
• Identify early signs of equipment wear and proactively address potential failures.
• Develop PM procedures and schedules for critical machinery.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Ensure equipment repairs meet safety and operational standards.
• Support lockout/tagout procedures and safe maintenance practices.
• Partner with production supervisors, engineers, and leadership to resolve equipment challenges.
• Contribute ideas that enhance safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
