Job summary

Aerotek in Carbondale, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems. You will diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment while supporting continuous improvement and reducing downtime.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical repair skills, including disassembly, repair, and reassembly of production equipment.
• Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance practices and schedules.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting equipment issues to identify root causes and implement repairs.
• Ability to work with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when documenting maintenance work and histories.
• Ability to respond effectively to emergency breakdowns and work under time pressure to reduce downtime.
• Solid understanding of maintenance safety practices and safe use of tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems according to maintenance plans and manufacturer recommendations.
• Carry out predictive maintenance by monitoring equipment performance to identify potential failures.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and respond quickly to emergencies to minimize downtime.
• Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
• Execute scheduled maintenance tasks, inspections, and adjustments to keep equipment within optimal parameters.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records including work orders, parts, and histories.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to prioritize work and ensure equipment availability.
