Job summary

Insteel Industries is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to install, maintain, and repair industrial mechanical systems in a heavy manufacturing environment. You will fabricate parts for overhauls, fit bearings, align gears and shafts, and connect motors and couplings to tight tolerances as part of daily maintenance tasks.

The role requires at least three years of machinery maintenance experience, familiarity with CMMS, and the ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of industrial machinery maintenance experience
• Broad technical training (high school plus 1–2 years of apprenticeship/trade training)
• Basic knowledge in shop mathematics
• Minimum of 2 years mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment
• Multi-craft experience preferred
• CMMS experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain industrial automation machinery and robotics
• Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity
• Read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Understand and apply Lockout/Tagout procedures
• Troubleshoot components and diagnose system failures
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Perform tasks independently while adhering to safety procedures
