Job summary

Insteel Industries, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and related components. You will fabricate parts for overhaul, perform routine maintenance, and align bearings, gears, and motors to tight tolerances.

The role emphasizes ALARA safety and zero-harm to people, property, and the environment. You will read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and apply Lockout/Tagout practices, with independent work capability and

Qualifications

Must have three plus years of industrial machinery maintenance experience.
Broad technical training (high school plus 1 to 2 years of apprenticeship or applied trades training).
Minimum of 2 years mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment; multi-craft experience preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
Organizational experience with CMMS preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain industrial automation machinery and robotics.
Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity.
Possess ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
Have a working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout.
Troubleshoot components and diagnose system failures.
Basic knowledge of electrical components and concepts.
Possess in-depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics.
Perform other mechanical duties as assigned.
Able to perform tasks independently.
Know and understand safety equipment and be aware of machine safety procedures.
