Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot industrial equipment across our facility operations. You will perform preventive maintenance, follow safety policies, and utilize CMMS to track repairs and parts.

The role requires reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and adhering to lockout/tagout procedures. The ideal candidate has 6 months+ of equipment maintenance experience, basic computer skills, and is comfortable working with boilers,

Qualifications

• Equipment Maintenance Knowledge – 6 months+ experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Maintenance literature in English; basic computer skills required.
• Experience using Hand & Power tools.
• Lockout/Tagout knowledge required.
• Welding experience (MIG, TIG, ARC) preferred.
• Safety program familiarity preferred; CMMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, maintains, installs, and troubleshoots industrial equipment including washers, dryers, conveyors, boilers.
• Performs preventive/predictive maintenance and safety checks.
• Uses CMMS for repair records and maintenance logs.
• Maintains equipment, records, and parts lists; follows maintenance procedures.
• Pursues continuous improvement and reduces downtime by addressing issues.
