Job summary
Georgia-Pacific Recycling in South Plainfield, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery at our OCC rebaling facility. You will install and align new equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and keep precise maintenance logs to support uptime and reliability.
You will collaborate with operations to prioritize maintenance, striving to meet production goals while minimizing waste.
Qualifications
- Four or more years of experience in mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
- Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience using a cutting torch and welding with an arc welder.
- Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery.
- Install and align new equipment.
- Perform periodic maintenance routines including lubricating machine tools and equipment for improved reliability and up time.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs including labor hours and critical preventative maintenance findings.
- Work with the operations team to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
- Help meet or exceed production and quality goals while optimizing equipment to reduce waste.
- Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines and participate in the safety program.
