Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a contract role based in Bessemer, AL. The position focuses on maintaining, repairing, and optimizing conveyors, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems within a fast-paced distribution center.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and collaborating with operations teams to improve equipment reliability. Work hours are 4:30 am–2:30 pm, Monday to Friday, onsite.

Qualifications

• Experience with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, sensors and automated material handling systems.
• 2+ years repairing material handling equipment or automated conveyor systems and controls.
• 2+ years performing predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
• 1+ years reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• 1+ years knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and conveyor systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Inspect and repair conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Collaborate with operations teams to improve equipment reliability and facility performance.
