Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Dublin mill operations. The role focuses on delivering preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery with a strong emphasis on reliability, safety, and compliance.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial maintenance, with strong electrical and mechanical skills, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts including on-call. Pulp and paper familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to work shift work and respond to calls.
• MS Office skills: Outlook, Word, Excel; MS Project is a plus.
• Basic mechanical tools and safety PPE usage.
• Flexible schedule with 8–12 hour days as needed.
• On-call work is required, not optional.
• Troubleshoot electrical AC/DC motors and control loops.
• Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
• Calibration and instrumentation knowledge (transmitters/valves).
• DCS knowledge for process control troubleshooting.
• 12-hour swing shifts; day/night rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical maintenance services to the plant to achieve high equipment reliability.
• Performs routine and non-routine maintenance on machinery (conveyors, balers, mobile equipment).
• Analyzes repeat failures and coordinates repairs to reduce downtime.
• Manages multiple maintenance projects concurrently.
• Executes activities including installation/disassembly and documents holdings.
• Manages parts and inventory; supports equipment selection and design.
• Maintains housekeeping standards across the facility.
• Generates reports on oil usage, overtime, shift activities, and maintenance work.
