Job summary

UniFirst Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our Maintenance Department. You will repair, maintain, install and troubleshoot industrial equipment and control systems while following blueprints and engineering specs.

The role includes boiler and wastewater testing, PLC troubleshooting, safety checks and routine maintenance with a Monday–Friday schedule and periodic night/weekend overtime. On‑the‑job training is provided, and opportunities for career growth exist within this

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Knowledgeable in industrial maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to read and understand maintenance literature in English.
• Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.
• Lockout / Tagout experience is required.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment problems by observation and testing.
• Assist maintenance staff with emergency and non-emergency repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specs.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater testing and adjust chemicals as needed.
• Conduct safety checks on boilers and perform repairs accordingly.
• Inspect and replace belts, filters, shaft components, and lubricate equipment.
• Perform basic welding for repairs.
• Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
