Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a maintenance mechanic with 1–3 years of related experience to service and repair electrical equipment in an industrial facility. The role requires strong safety awareness, the ability to read electrical diagrams, and baseline hydraulics/pneumatics familiarity.

Located in Fontana, CA, the position offers full-time hours with potential overtime, comprehensive medical/dental/vision, 401(k) and PTO. Day‑1 benefits, union programs may vary by contract.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or recognized equivalent.
• 1–3 years of related maintenance mechanic experience.
• Preferred: Electrical Controls Technician in an industrial setting.
• Strong electrical safety, troubleshooting, and problem solving under pressure.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC and OSHA standards.
• Hydraulics and pneumatics experience.
• Able to read electrical diagrams and technical manuals.
• Lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow safety rules for hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
• Repair electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchboards, motors, and conduit systems.
• Read blueprints, drawings, layouts and verbal instructions.
• Use welding equipment for layout and fitting; create jigs and fixtures.
• Diagnose and correct electrical system problems and compute load requirements.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery.
• Notify management of major repairs needed.
• Provide on‑the‑job direction to maintenance staff.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and ensure safety standards.
• Enter repair history and close out work orders.
