Job summary

Aerotek in North Plains, OR is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform daily upkeep of a lumber yard’s building, grounds, and production equipment. The role emphasizes preventative and corrective tasks, safety compliance, and timely repairs to keep production running smoothly.

The position operates on a day shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with overtime as required. Experience with hydraulics, electrical, welding, and forklifts is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of related experience performing machinery maintenance in an industrial setting.
• Strong experience with preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Hands-on hydraulics and pneumatics experience in an industrial environment.
• Electrical troubleshooting with faulty circuits and use of micrometers.
• Ability to read schematics, manuals and technical documents.
• Experience with machinery maintenance on production equipment.
• Welding experience (stick/wire feed).
• Experience with forklifts and material-handling equipment.
• Adherence to OSHA safety guidelines including LOTO and machine guarding.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment in safe operating condition to support production.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and document activities.
• Follow LOTO, forklift safety and related OSHA guidelines.
• Keep building and grounds safe, clean and orderly.
• Maintain forklifts, combi stands and pallet jacks via vendors or internal resources.
• Coordinate contract renewals to ensure equipment compliance.
• Conduct equipment inspections and safety audits.
• Participate in JHA/JSA reviews to improve safety.
• Perform landscaping, painting and weatherization on facilities.
• Prepare routine reports and maintenance metrics for improvement.
