Job summary

Sonoco is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician (IMRT) in West Chicago, IL to support plant reliability through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Reporting to the Plant Engineer, the IMRT maintains mechanical, electrical and automation systems, documents activity in CMMS, and participates in continuous improvement while upholding safety and 5S standards.

The role starts on the 3rd shift (11pm-7am) with training on the 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) for the

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High school diploma; preferred associate degree in a technical field.
• Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety and CMMS usage.

Responsibilities

• Perform proactive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Troubleshoot failures and conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Document maintenance activity in CMMS and support continuous improvement.
• Ensure safety, housekeeping, and 5S standards in all areas.
