Job summary

Superior Aluminum Alloys, a Steel Dynamics, Inc. subsidiary, is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for day shift, Monday–Friday, on site in Indiana.

You will create and maintain a safe work environment, perform project work, install new equipment, support contractors, and drive process improvements. Candidates should have welding, electrical/mechanical aptitude, and strong problem solving, with the ability to pass full-face respirator and SCBA FIT tests.

• Previous industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong welding and fabrication experience.
• Strong electrical / mechanical aptitude.

• Problem solving and troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to pass FIT test for full face respirator and SCBA.
• Rigging experience (preferred).
• Electrical experience (preferred).
• Project management experience (preferred).
• Contractor management experience (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain safe work environment and practices
• Perform project work, install new equipment, and PMs
• Help manage and support contractors
• Identify opportunities for improvement and drive them to completion
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation
• Work with chemicals that require full face respirator or SCBA
• Perform all other tasks assigned by leadership
