Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Planner to support maintenance and reliability activities in a fast-paced pulp and paper manufacturing environment. You will plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance to keep mill equipment and facilities safe, reliable, and efficient.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant industrial planning experience, strong mechanical maintenance knowledge, and CMMS proficiency (SAP, Maximo, IMaint or similar).

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industrial planning, scheduling, cost control, and estimating experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance practices and equipment reliability.
• Proficiency with CMMS platforms (SAP, Maximo, IMaint or similar).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule maintenance work orders from initiation through completion.
• Develop detailed job plans including labor, materials, tools, safety requirements, and procedures.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Manage maintenance backlog and prioritize work based on safety, reliability, production impact, and resources.
• Ensure parts, materials, and contractor resources are available prior to scheduled work.
• Support preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance outages, shutdowns, and major repair activities.
• Maintain equipment records and work order documentation in the CMMS.
• Conduct field walkdowns to verify scope, equipment condition, and execution requirements.
• Promote compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and cost control.

What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Planner to support maintenance and reliability activities within a fast-paced pulp and paper manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mill equipment and facilities.

Primary Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To

• Plan and schedule maintenance work orders from initiation through completion.
• Develop detailed job plans including labor, materials, tools, safety requirements, and work procedures.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Manage maintenance backlog and prioritize work based on safety, reliability, production impact, and resource availability.
• Ensure parts, materials, and contractor resources are available prior to scheduled work.
• Support preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance outages, shutdowns, and major repair activities.

Ideal Background

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.

Certification

AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.

Experience

This position requires 10+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

• Maintenance planning and scheduling experience preferred.
• Experience in pulp and paper, tissue, converting, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance practices and equipment reliability.
• Experience with CMMS platforms such as SAP, Maximo, IMaint, or similar systems..
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
