Job summary

Wellington Foods seeks a Production Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair and maintain machinery including conveyors, packaging and HVAC systems. You will read electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic drawings, perform preventative maintenance, and participate in changeovers on production lines.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 3 years in a similar role, and strong mechanical and organizational skills. Overtime/weekends may be required; PLC knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years in Production Mechanic preferred.
• Good mechanical abilities and comprehension.
• Able to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
• Some PLC knowledge.
• Able to troubleshoot electrical 24V, 120V, and 480V.
• Organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Able to adapt to change.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.
• Good written and oral communication.
• Able to stand long periods, lift 50 lbs.
• Team player; willing to assist others.
• Able to work overtime/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Overhaul and install new equipment.
• Complete work orders as assigned.
• Perform equipment changeovers and production line set-ups.
• Provide preventive and corrective maintenance support to production lines and facilitate changeover.
• Perform basic fabrication and design of small projects.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for all employees.
• Comply with cGMPs and GDPs.
• Identify current and potential problems and generate solutions.
• Repair and maintain plant machinery including fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, and boilers.
• Maintain work area per quality guidelines and GDPs.
• Comply with PPE and LOTO procedures.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisors.
