Job summary

Global Cellulose Fibers in Columbus, MS is seeking a J3 General Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support our Columbus Cellulose Fibers facility in a team-based environment. This role involves installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems in a continuous-process operation.

Qualifications include high school/GED, technical training in mechanical maintenance, 5+ years of industrial experience, and strong safety and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must be at least age 18.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• Formal technical/trade school training in mechanical maintenance (or equivalent).
• Five+ years verifiable industrial experience as a J3 General Mechanical Maintenance Technician.
• Multi-skilled maintenance experience is preferred.
• Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and 2–20 pounds regularly.
• Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and shifts as needed.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply, install, and replace bearings (tapered and straight bore).
• Rig heavy equipment and machinery; align equipment precisely.
• Install and maintain pumps, seals, drives, and conveyors.
• Maintain hydraulic systems and motors; service compressors.
• Troubleshoot with drawings, diagrams, and manuals; perform preventive maintenance.
