Job summary

UPS is hiring Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanics with electrical experience for a fast-paced package handling facility in Sylmar, CA. This permanent role offers 1st–3rd shift opportunities within a 24x7 operation.

The position requires a strong electrical background and the ability to pass an electrical assessment. You will troubleshoot and repair AC/DC equipment, motors, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and perform preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must have strong electrical background and be able to pass electrical assessment.
• Available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in a 24x7 operation.
• Roles involve maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment in a UPS facility.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment (batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, photoelectric devices, transducers, VFDs, encoders).
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing motors, conveyors, bearings, belts, pulleys, and drive parts.
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic equipment (diverters, lubricators, hoses, coils).
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing hydraulic equipment (hoses, fittings, cylinders, pumps).
• Welding equipment and preparing structures as defined by scope of work.
• Performing preventive maintenance inspections on conveyors and other plant equipment.
