Job summary

UPS is hiring Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanics to maintain a package handling facility. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC electrical and mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and performing preventive maintenance.

The position supports 1st–3rd shifts in a 24x7 operation. Candidates must have a strong electrical background and pass an electrical assessment.

Available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in a 24x7 operation.

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment (batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, photoelectric devices, transducers, VFDs, encoders).
Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing mechanical components (motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, pulleys, rollers, conveyors, bearings, transfer plates).
Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic equipment (diverters, lubricators, hoses, coils).
Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing hydraulic equipment (hoses, fittings, cylinders, pumps).
Welding equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, and other package handling equipment.
Performing preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment (conveyors, bulk carts, power industrial equipment).
