Job summary

UPS is actively seeking a Buildings and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanic to maintain package handling facilities. You will troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems, operate in a 24x7 environment, and support preventive maintenance across conveyors and related equipment.

The role requires strong electrical background, ability to pass electrical assessment, and willingness to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. Permanent employment with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Strong electrical background and ability to pass electrical assessment.
• Willing to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in a 24x7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment (batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, photo cells, transducers, VFDs and encoders).
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing mechanical components (motors, reducers, conveyors, belts, rollers, pulleys, bearings).
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic equipment (diverters, lubricators, hoses, coils).
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing hydraulic equipment (hoses, fittings, cylinders, pumps).
• Welding equipment such as handrails and conveyor supports per scope of work.
• Performing preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment.
