Job summary

UPS is seeking Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanics to maintain a package handling facility. The role requires a strong electrical background and involves troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems across AC/DC equipment, conveyors, and related components.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Strong electrical background
• Ability to work 1st-3rd shifts in a 24x7 operation
• Experience with maintenance of conveyors and plant equipment

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC/DC electrical equipment (batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, photo-electrical devices, transducers, VFDs, encoders)
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components (motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, pulleys, rollers, belts, bearings)
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, replace pneumatic equipment (diverters, lubricators, hoses, coils)
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, replace hydraulic equipment (hoses, fittings, cylinders, pumps)
• Weld equipment as needed for rails, supports, and conveyors
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment
