Job summary

UPS is hiring Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanics to perform maintenance at a UPS package handling facility. The role requires a strong electrical background and the ability to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift in a 24x7 operation.

You will troubleshoot, inspect, repair and replace AC/DC electrical equipment, motors, conveyors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and perform welding of supports and frames as needed. This is a permanent, on-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical background required.
• Ability to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift in a 24x7 operation.
• Experience with maintenance of conveyors and related equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment (batteries, control stations, relays, etc.).
• Inspecting and repairing mechanical components such as motors, conveyors, belts, bearings, and rollers.
• Inspecting and repairing pneumatic equipment (diverters, hoses, coils) and hydraulic equipment (hoses, fittings, cylinders).
• Welding of structural components and supports as defined by scope of work.
• Performing preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment.
