Job summary

James Hardie Building Products Inc. is seeking a Shift Maintenance Mechanic to support the plant's continuous operation.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will repair and maintain machinery including conveyors, pumps, and hydraulic systems on your assigned shift. You will respond to alarms and breakdowns, locate sources of problems, and safely replace defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent.
At least 2 years of heavy industrial mechanical/millwright experience in a continuous operating (24/7) environment.
Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.
Experience using CMMS to track work and parts.

Responsibilities

Maintains production and quality by ensuring efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
Acts as a maintenance first responder for day-to-day coverage of production line equipment; respond to alarms, breakdowns, and production requests quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and collaborating with team members to resolve.
Safely replaces defective parts by using hoists, cranes, and/or hand & power tools.
Works rotating shifts with a fellow shift mechanic to support facility operations.
