Job summary

James Hardie Building Products Inc. is seeking a Shift Maintenance Mechanic to support our Texas facility. You will maintain production and quality by ensuring efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment, respond to alarms and breakdowns, and work with a team to resolve issues.

A 12-hour rotating shift is required. Ideal candidates have an associate degree in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent experience and at least 2 years in heavy industrial maintenance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of heavy industrial mechanical and millwright experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficient with CMMS for work tracking and parts.
• Experience on rotating shifts.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Maintains production and quality by ensuring efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Responds to alarms, breakdowns, and production requests quickly to minimize downtime.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and collaborating with the team.
• Safely replaces defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
• Works rotating shifts with a fellow shift mechanic to support facility operations.
