Dow Jones is seeking a skilled Machinist/Mechanic to support plant operations with preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems. The role requires reading blueprints, performing tests, and ensuring safety compliance while maintaining equipment efficiency.

The successful candidate will perform disassembly, calibration, lubrication, welding, and part fabrication as needed, with a focus on safety, quality, and timely execution of maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as an industrial/commercial mechanic.
• Ability to work under deadlines.
• Willingness to rotate between 1st and 2nd shifts; some weekend work.
• Good math and mechanical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Welding experience.
• Follow policies and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems including disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration.
• Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
• Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs; inspect for defects.
• Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production machinery.
• Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
• Study blueprints and manuals to determine correct installation and operation.
• Cut and weld metal to repair or fabricate parts and assemble new equipment.
• Test all repairs and maintain accurate records of parts used and work performed.
